GROUND WELL
Public Art; Historic Sites; Space experience
Location
Fenghuang Valley, Luanping County, Hebei Province, China
As a rural landmark, this well has lost its function in irrigating crops, but as a historical relic, it reflects the past state of production and living. Through field investigations into the well's historical role, its core lies in the impact of water on the surface. In my creation, I visualized the relationship between water and land by distorting space, creating a public experience space in the form of a vortex. This serves to preserve the well's influence on the land and acts as a symbol connecting historical memories with future imaginings.
